Let me begin by sharing with you what I have come to know and love about dance.
Dance involves the entire person, body, mind and soul. Dance expresses feelings through the medium of movement, a channeling
of energy, via the body, an expression of spirituality, soul and passion, which involves the mind to maintain control.
Dancing has been both an outlet and an inlet for my life. No matter what was going on in the "real" world, I have
depended on total immersion in the art of dance to give me a time of rest from life, a way to have fun and let some bright
energy in while releasing the dark side.
I so enjoy letting the music hit my soul and work it's way out.
Dance has kept my body strong, my blood pressure low and my heart rate slow and steady, even during times of exertion. Adding
the movement to sedentary lifestyle wakes the
senses and trims the body.
I teach with an emphasis on a love for the art, executing the steps and movements correctly, all delivered in an environment
of fun. Of course you cannot relate to a beginning student or a child in the same way as you would a trained dancer - the
approaches are worlds apart. Hence classes are broken down on skill level and age. Students find the accomplishment of a
certain step or movement very rewarding.
