This is my little sister giving me a big kiss.

We changed costumes behind blankets strung on trees

My dance training began at the age of 4, under the personal guidance of Jacqueline Dorminy, Dorminy Studios, Inc. of Winston-Salem. Although Miss Dorminy is now gone, many years of her association and training prepared me to relate easily to any dance style.

I studied advanced Tap,Jazz and Ballet techniques, steps and styles from the many great dancers who taught at Dorminy Studios over the years. I trained as a Teacher with world famous choreographers and teachers via Dance Caravan and at the Homecoming Convention by Dorminy Studios and later by Dance Caravan, held annually in Winston-Salem and many other US locations. I have attended many masters classes in Tap, Jazz, Ballet and Belly Dance.

I trained with Wanda Plemmons, Director of the Academy of Dance Arts in Winston-Salem for 10 years studying Ballet and Jazz.

To further complement my training, I have had Masters Classes with renown teachers such as Judy Baylin Founder of Baylin Studios and Mallory Graham of Dance South in High Point, NC. I annually Attend the "Homecoming" Dance Convention in Winston-Salem and have trained with many great teachers, such as Dorothy Lister of Joffrey Ballet, Tap Master Tommy Walsh, Cory Finn of California, Jimmie Ruth White of Texas to name just a few.

While working as the evening Tap and Jazz Teacher for Dorminy Studios for more than 20 years, I developed a love for teaching dance.

Working with Masters Level students, I created and trained choreography for the Masters Class Students of Janice Price's Artistic Studio. We performed "Summertime"(Lyrical Jazz), "Beat It"(Tap) and "You Never Walk Alone"(Ballet) at Reynolds Auditorium to a sell out crowd.

Church presentations are a special joy of mine, where we combined dance with the talents of renown pianists and vocalists for special event and fund raising functions. Productions for Christmas, Easter involving many church members are my specialty. A special praise performance for victims of 911 (both the living and the dead) and for our country was a highlight in my life in 2006.

My Belly Dance and Gypsy Dance training has been with a variety of beautiful and talented teachers in Winston-Salem and Greensboro as well as Iara Kendrick (Samra) of Fancy Gap, VA and Julianne Bataglia, teacher and organizer of Sahara Silk in Jacksonville FL. I continue to build skill in this area and am enjoying it a great deal. I find my dance background a teriffic asset to me in this artform
