All levels of the different styles are taught to all ages as well as stage presence and an ability to get the message across.
Stress is placed on the proper communication with your audience. Participation in a recital is encouraged but not required.
Ballet Danceing
...the foundation of dance
Student learns body placement as well as grace and movement that carry through to the other styles of dance - including
Belly Dancing. Grace and style are gained from this foundation as well as ballet foot positions and later includes combinations,
turns and leaps.
Pointe Dancing
Student must be auditioned and approved by the instructor for
Pointe. Requires a sound knowledge of ballet as well as the strength needed to perform pointe movements.
Tap Dancing
At all levels - student learns rhythm and the ability to keep time to the music with basic to advanced tap steps. Requires
tap shoes. Fast, fun, rhythmic
Jazz Dancing
Jazz movements are based in part on ballet body positions with a "feel" for the music and ability to get up and
down from the floor, jumps, turns are taught as students progress. Styles of such greats as Bob Fossee are used. Fast paced,
fun.
Liturgical Dance & Spiritual Movement
...less focus on body movements and more focus on hand arm and head movements - moving steps are taught. An ability to express
spiritual feelings and praise is taught along with very basic ballet positiions and movements. Spiritual (religious) music
is used.
Belly and Gypsy Dancing
...a focus on the feminine aspect - movements that exercise and tone the female areas of the body. A bonding affect among
women naturally occurs and self esteem is promoted in the ability to just be who you are. Many women find this class a very
freeing feeling and enjoy the uninhibited atmosphere.
Gypsy dance is a little looser and more basic style with use of fans, skirts, jumps.
